From discovering the material to making your own piece.
Straw was an accessible farm material used to weave practical objects and decorations connected with annual celebrations. Techniques and forms varied by region, so we clearly identify the source of any selected pattern.
For Rural Women's Associations, we run workshops on weaving straw flowers for harvest wreaths. The scope can be adapted to the planned wreath and the participants' experience.
We also run straw jewellery workshops. The facilitator shows how to prepare the material, create a repeated weave and finish each piece neatly. The focus is on precision, rhythm and respect for the craft tradition.
